Who are we: GrandParent/Carers, Parents/Carers, Sibling/Carers, Foster Parent/Carers and Adoptive Parent/Carers, of children with disabilities in Middlesbrough
What are we doing: Developing ways to include families in the process of influencing change in Childrens Disability Services in Middlesbrough.
Why are we doing it: To ensure that any changes being made to Childrens Disability Services are meaningful for Disabled Children in Middlesbrough.
When are we doing it: PRESENTLY with this website information being read by you.
MONTHLY with all who attend our exciting Focus and Steering group meetings.
BI-ANNUALLY with all who attend our friendly conferences.
Where are we doing it: www.parents4change.co.uk. Middlesbrough Sure Start Childrens Centres.
How are we doing it: By following the Durham Model of Participation introduced by Kathy Rist who is Contact a Family's Regional Manager (also our Parent Participation Advisor) along with Sarah Lewis, Regional Information Officer,who together care for the North East and Cumbria.
With support from Government Funding, earmarked for consultation processes NATIONALY.
MOST IMPORTANTLY With voluntary involvement of PARENTS/CARERS in the initial,continued development and operation of PARENTS 4 CHANGE. This progress is achieved with the support and guidance from Jenny Dalby (Children with Disabilities Manager with her Team) and from Sue Little (Childrens Participation Officer).
